Wood Floor Stain Solutions
Wood floor stains can have different causes and depths. A surface stain may improve during refinishing, while moisture and pet stains can penetrate farther into the wood. The appropriate solution depends on the stain, wood species, floor condition and services available from your local Mr. Sandless location.
Option 1: Stained Board Replacement
For deep stains that cannot be sufficiently reduced through refinishing, replacing the affected boards may be an option. Where this service is available, the damaged boards are removed and replacement boards are selected, colored and finished to coordinate as closely as practical with the surrounding floor.
Because wood changes naturally with age, light and wear, an exact color or grain match cannot be guaranteed. A local professional can first inspect the affected area and determine whether refinishing, board replacement or another approach is appropriate.
