Clearing the dust with a floor-sanding
alternative

Matt Gardiner, owner of Mr. Sandless, runs an

When Matt Gardiner visited the Philadelphia
headquarters of Mr. Sandless in 2006, he was
floored. The Grant City resident was so
impressed by company's state-of-the-art wood
floor refinishing process, he became the sixth
in a growing list of franchisees, which now
numbers 84.
At the time, Matt was seeking to replace his
former Wall Street career as a head trader on
the NASDAQ Stock Market with a venture of his
own on Staten Island.
Today, Matt's home-based Mr. Sandless operation
is an established enterprise offering customers
an alternative to the most common method of
wood-floor refinishing, which requires sanding
and often-multiple polyurethane applications.
According to the Mr. Sandless Web site, the
company achieves results with "no sanding, no
mess, no fuss."
Sanding a floor and applying a coat or more of
polyurethane finish "can take days on end and
can be very toxic," Matt said.
"We're greener, we're faster," he added. "We can
normally have service done within four to six
hours." The company uses a non-toxic chemical
that penetrates the top surface of the wood,
according to the site.
This is in contrast to polyurethane treatments,
which could take 19 hours to dry and often
require people to leave their homes during the
lengthy application and drying process, said the
42-year old entrepreneur.
Most people "love the end result" of the service
he provides, said Matt, whose franchise
territory includes all of Staten Island and
parts of Brooklyn.

Just a short note to let you know that I am totally thrilled with my floors.
Mr. Sandless is a wonderful company. I was skeptical in the beginning
because I thought the only process to refinish my wood floors was sanding
and waiting days until the polyurethane dried.
Now, I’m sorry I waited so long. For the last week I have been singing
the praise of Mr. Sandless to all my neighbors and friends.
My entire house (LR, DR, 3 BR, 1 hall & 2 staircases were finished in less
than 10 hours (which included rug removal and furniture moving).
I was able to immediately walk all over the house with no restrictions.
There was no horrible odor either.
Because your system is environmentally safe, I was not worried about my
animals being exposed to anything toxic after your crew left.
You guys made me a believer. Your staff is wonderful.

Thank you again for your and your
crew's expert assistance with my client's
bedroom makeover. As I mentioned, I am putting
my interior design portfolio together over the
