Welcome!
My name is Dan Praz, and I am the President and CEO of Mr. Sandless™
I have been asked time and time again to explain
to our clients how I came up with such a unique process for bringing
wood floors back to life. The easiest way to tell you this is to fill
you in on a brief history.
My wife and I started a home cleaning service right after
we were married. We serviced fifteen houses each week for seven straight years.
That's a lot of house cleaning! One home we serviced was owned by a doctor, who
hired me to service his office as well. He had a medium sized office, with tile
floors. The doctor told me I could try anything I wanted on the floors, as long
as I got them to look good. Each week I experimented, until I found a way to keep
those tile floors shining!
Many years, and many clients later, I had refinished literally miles
of tile floors, doing the service in every imaginable business, such as hospitals,
medical centers, dental offices, schools, churches, and occasionally in people's homes.
I even won the prestigious "Best Floor in the Country" Award in 1997 for my work at
Drexel Hill Baptist Church. During this period, I developed a method of refinishing
hard type floors without having them lose color or being damaged. In fact, as seen
in the pictures below, my system brought back the color to a worn floor.
A traditional stripping can often damage and remove the color from a hard surface.
I spent ten years perfecting my process, and became known on the East Coast as the
solution to any difficult or antique hard floor refinishing.

But it was my floor work with churches that led me to discover this special
way to bring wood back to life. One church I serviced has an enormous parsonage
that they were going to rent out. It had nothing but wood floors in almost every
room. As most churches go, their budget was tight, and although many of the
rooms needed sanding, the church couldn't afford it. Church trustees met with
me, and asked me a favor—if I could somehow figure out a way to get the floors
looking good, while still staying in the budget they had to work with. Once
again, one of my clients gave me the ability to experiment, until I could come
up with something that would work.
At first, I did a room following a standard janitorial guideline
that I found in a book, using a 100-grit pad and oil. What a disaster! I knew
there had to be a better way! I decided to try my tile refinishing method
on the very next room! My crew at the time would not join me in the process,
insisting that I would damage the wood. So I had them hand me the materials
from the hallway while I work the room alone. When I was finished, they were
shocked, and admitted that they were wrong—the process worked on the wood floor.
I'll never forget the look of those church members when they entered and saw
how incredible I got the wood floors to look! I even came in under budget!
It was at that point I knew I had found something great! From
that one parsonage, I received several referrals, and each subsequent floor,
no matter how beat-up or terrible it looked, just kept coming out looking
awesome! Within a few jobs, I adjusted the solutions I used to better fit
the qualities of wood, and worked another three years to perfect the service.
During that time, I serviced nearly 500 homes with 100% client satisfaction.
It was at that time that I decided to bring my service to the entire country.
Since that time, Mr. Sandless™ has refinished thousands of wood
floors, with excellent results! We do our best for our clients and promise
to work hard to give you the professional service you deserve! We are honest
with what we can achieve and put everything in writing to you before the job
begins. So very many people have trusted me over the years with their floors—
you can feel confident in placing your trust in my company. We truly care about
each and every client we service!
