"Hey, Mike!
I just had to write to you. I took my beloved up to the cottage today, after giving the floors overnight to dry and cure. Honestly, Mike, what you and Eddie did continues to just blow us away. If you'll remember the first day we met there, I told you that as we were renovating a cottage of around 100 years old, we wanted to try and keep as much of the "old" character of the home, while bringing it into the 21st century. We had been tempted to have those old pine floors sanded down and refinished. The flaws; the ridges, upturned edges in places, etc., would have all been monolithic and "perfect". I suppose it might even have ended up looking like a new floor from a big box store. But then, Dawna found you and Mr. Sandless, and something just clicked. Did I tell you that the night before you guys came, I used seven bottles of Pledge 4-in-1 Wood Floor Cleaner and two boxes (32) of those Swiffer pads to clean the floor and be ready for you?! And then you two began to clean the "clean" floor. Hah! When I saw that filthy water, I was stunned at how deep your cleaning process is. And, by the time the first coat of sealer was down, my heart sang...we had made the right choice. Then this morning, we walked all through the house. Every single bit of the character of those old floors is still there. But they glisten now. We cannot be happier. You and Eddie went way beyond the call of duty to prepare the bad areas that will probably be in your nightmares for a while!
